Event Info

event held on the philadelphia side!

We hosted the event on the Philly side the first 2 years and the Yeadon side the next to years. This year we are moving the event BACK TO THE PHILLY SIDE!

Why? Last year, even though we worked for months to get a permit to close a portion of Cobbs Creek Parkway, which was confirmed and paid for, the police never barricaded the road.

Cobbs Creek Parkway splits the cemetery in two. The event will be held on the Philly side, parking will be on the Philly side

Cemetery Address

Philly Side: 6201 Kingsessing Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19142 (Event held on the Philly side as well as limited free visitor parking)

PARKING

The Philadelphia side will host the market AND limited free visitor parking. Visitors should enter the cemetery at 6201 Kingsessing Ave to park. Please lock your car and leave your valuables at home.

We strongly encourage you to take an Uber/Lyft/Taxi to the event or public transportation. If you use ride share, uber, or lyft, please go to the Philadelphia entrance at 6201 Kingsessing Ave.

HANDICAP PARKING

This is an abandoned cemetery. There are no actual parking spaces. The volunteers from the Friends of Mount Moriah are going to do their best to reserve spots on the Philly side as close to the entrance to the market as possible. Just tell them when you enter you need parking as close as possible/handicap parking.

Parking on the Yeadon side and crossing Cobbs Creek Parkway will not be monitored at all so if you choose to do so, it’s at your own risk. Crossing Cobbs Creek Parkway on foot is dangerous. Please use extreme caution if you choose to do so.

Visitors enter at their own risk

Mount Moriah Cemetery was abandoned in 2011 and was placed in a receivership in 2014. The grounds are cared for by the non-profit Friends of Mount Moriah Cemetery, Inc., but…

There are many overgrown areas, uneven ground, rugged roads, and unsteady stones. Visitors enter at their own risk! Please do not climb on, lean on, or otherwise touch stones or mausoleums.

Click here to visit the Friends of Mount Moriah Cemetery website for more information about the cemetery.

VOLUNTEER RUN

Did you know that Mount Moriah technically has no owner? The Friends of the Mount Moriah Cemetery are all volunteers who are the stewards of the land.

cemetery map

Cobbs Creek divides the Cemetery into two areas, the Yeadon side and the Philadelphia side. The market will be taking place on the Yeadon side instead of the Philly side.

admission

Admission is a suggested donation of $5. Cash only at the gate (no pre-purchase). Your donation supports the preservation and restoration efforts of the cemetery.

WEATHER

The event will take place rain or shine! If severe weather - thunderstorms for example - is called for 10/5, we will make the call Friday evening to move the event to our rain date on Sunday October 6th. We will post it right here if we are changing to Sunday, announce it on Instagram, Facebook and in the Facebook event.
